Nieuwendijk 85 sits on a busy shopping street, but the shop itself is calm: a small room, three chairs, warm light and a mirror wall. You will usually hear Dutch, English, Arabic and Turkish in the same hour — most of our chairs are filled by people who live or work within a few streets of Dam Square, plus travellers who walked over from Centraal with an hour to spare.

Every cut starts the same way: hair down, hands in it, a short conversation about how you wear it during the week rather than how it looks the moment you leave. Mo works fast and clean on skin fades, taking the guard right down to the skin and blending it out with a foil shaver. Zafri is the scissor-work barber — textured crops, longer tops, anything that needs to grow out gracefully. Elvira handles detail work and beard shaping, with a hot towel and straight-razor finish on the neckline.

Fades are checked from three angles under different light before the towel comes off, and nobody leaves without the neck and around the ears cleaned by razor. A typical haircut takes 30–45 minutes; we do not double-book chairs, so your slot is your slot. Coffee or water while you wait, and if a walk-in has to sit for ten minutes we will tell you honestly rather than keep you guessing.
